To answer this question, we decided to come up with an objective way to determine who the most intelligent dog breeds in the world are by looking at research-backed.


 




1.Border Collie

 These athletic dogs have an uncanny ability to understand verbal and non-verbal commands, so much so that some people refer to them as workaholics or Velcro dogs. It’s common for Border Collies to learn new commands after only five or six repetitions. They also exhibit an intense work ethic; Border Collies will do anything they can to complete a task.

 




2.Papillion

These elegant dogs are very similar to spaniels and poodles. They have a great sense of smell, and they’re easily trained by hand signals or whistles. They can even be taught to play fetch! The only downside? They need a lot of exercise and grooming.

 



3.Poodle

The poodle is easily one of the most intelligent dogs, and its extremely high levels of trainability make it perfect for agility competitions and obedience trials. The American Kennel Club considers poodles to be one of their easiest breeds to train, but some specialized lines have developed stubborn streaks that make them difficult to work.

 





4.Doberman Pinscher

The Doberman Pinscher is an intelligent and fearless dog breed. These dogs are known for their strong bond with their families. They’re well-known for doing well with children and helping out around the house by gathering items that have been dropped. Highly intelligent, these pups can be trained to learn a variety of tasks and tricks.

Recently, a university study was conducted to find out which dog breeds were most intelligent. The results were fascinating! In first place was none other than German Shepherd dogs, closely followed by Golden Retrievers. Bringing up third place were English Bulldogs and Collies (also known as Shetland Sheepdogs). These types of dogs are extremely intelligent and can be trained fairly easily.
